Launched on May 1st, 2016, the celebration coincides with the anniversary of the formation of Josiah Wedgwood's iconic ceramic company, a significant milestone in the region's history. Staffordshire Day has grown in popularity every year, with more and more people taking part in the celebrations and promoting the county's unique contributions to the nation's heritage and culture.

Staffordshire Day is observed with a wide range of events and activities taking place all around the county. These include guided heritage walks, open houses at historic sites, special offers at local attractions, and food and drink markets featuring local products.   • Staffordshire Day serves as an anniversary for Josiah Wedgwood. A potter and entrepreneur, Wedgwood started the Wedgwood company on 1 May, 1759. It became the largest manufacturer of Staffordshire pottery and transformed Staffordshire into one of the world's ceramic hub.
